The Birth of Looney – Hank Life Podcast – S01E04
On this episode of the Hank Life Podcast:
At age 13 I learned that Perception is reality. The street taught me this. See on the street power is all that matters. There’s no time to be scared. No time to be weak. Everyone’s watching. A badass outward appearance has to be maintained to conceal a less creditable reality within. Your reputation must strike fear. Because fear is power. And when you’re feared you’re safe. From enemies. From your own boys. From yourself.
Lakeshore was here for war. Here for violence. Lakeshore was a more hardcore set. Tank wanted us to know that when we became soldiers we were being held to that reputation. We were joining the war. And as you’ll see we went above and beyond. But more on that later.
Bugsy called me to the center of the circle. It stared straight into my eyes. Like he was looking into my soul. He asked me if I was ready to devote my life to the crown. For him this wasn’t a joke. He wanted me to feel the complete weight of the decision. With heart pounding and full of a mix of pride and insecurity I said yes. As throw up our gang sign, high in the air.
This moment for me was special at the time. It was this moment that Hank burned up in the flame of the ritual and Looney emerged. Looney was my new Identity. Looney was powerful. Looney was respected, feared, loved and got the girls. This perception would become my reality. Looney would run my life many years. And that night was just the beginning.
Once the Facebook page gets to 100 likes Hank will do a photo shoot in the Tarzan outfit.
